The undergraduate program at Dharma Realm Buddhist University (DRBU) is designed to provide students with a broad liberal arts education infused with Buddhist philosophy and practice. The program offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Buddhist Studies. The curriculum integrates the study of traditional Buddhist texts and teachings with Western humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.
The undergraduate admissions process at DRBU involves completing an online application form, submitting official transcripts, writing two essays, obtaining two letters of recommendation, and potentially participating in an interview.
Admission decisions are made based on a holistic review of the application materials, including academic performance, essays, letters of recommendation, and the interview.
Successful applicants will receive an offer of admission letter with the conditions of acceptance outlined. International students must also demonstrate English proficiency by submitting TOEFL or IELTS scores.
DRBU is accredited by the WASC Senior Commission of Universities and Colleges (WSCUC). WSCUC is the accreditation commission for universities in California and is the same accreditor for schools like Stanford and UC Berkeley.
